About

Hey Hi!

I started this blog so I could share my interest in travel, wellness, and being a responsible tourist. I’ve traveled throughout my life and love exploring everything a destination has to offer. The chapters of my journey brought me to a different continent with each decade. I’ve lived in the UK, Middle East, Southeast Asia, and now the USA. In 2019 I moved with my family to Hatteras Island in the Outer Banks, a chain of small barrier islands off the coast of North Carolina. It is an amazing place to call home, giving us access to nature and a friendly small Island community. My past career in the events industry and luxury hospitality, allowed me to travel and work in different international markets, fuelling my passion for destination travel, going that extra mile, and finding hidden gems.

Living on a sandbar is where I’ll be! Hatteras Island is where people come to live at the beach and enjoy a different pace of life.

You can find me at the Island Attic in Avon, where I work throughout the busy summer months. It’s a colorful gift shop, selling Balinese furniture, handicrafts, global fair trade goods, and local art. Here is where I bring a little international flair to my island life. Please drop by and say hi. I love to talk about travel experiences and share worldwide adventures.

I also book beach homes and make reservations for a leading vacation rental company that’s local to Hatteras Island. I’d be happy to help you plan and make the most of your stay here on the island.

If you are thinking about going on vacation to other places in the USA or other destinations around the world, feel free to get in touch for travel advice about booking hotels, cruises, safaris, tours, and more.

When I’m not going between the shop and planning travel, I’m also a mom-on-the-run! My family life is filled with driving kids to surf camp in the summer, tennis in the spring and fall, basketball through the winter, and enjoying this beautiful island we call home. Having NC 12 South as the view for my daily commute—I wouldn’t have it any other way!!
