About
Hey Hi!
I love to travel and explore everything a destination has to offer. I’ve been fortunate my journey in life brought me to a different continent with each decade. I now live on Hatteras Island in the Outer Banks, a chain of small barrier islands off the coast of North Carolina. I’ve worked in hospitality and the events industry, living in the UK, Middle East, and Southeast Asia, before moving to the United States with my family. I started this blog so I could share my interest in travel, wellness, and being a responsible tourist. Feel free to get in touch!

Life on a Sandbar! People visit Hatteras Island to enjoy a different pace of life and get away from it all.
You’ll also find a small and resilient community living year-round on this small and remote island. Embracing the seasons just like changing winds, many people balance the busy summer months with quiet winters, keeping an eye out for hurricane forecasts and nor’easters that can change our simple island life in a flash.
You can catch me at the Island Attic in Avon, where I work. It’s a colorful gift shop, selling Balinese furniture, handicrafts, global fair trade goods, and local art. I also book beach homes for a local vacation rental company, helping out on reservations through their busy times.
I’m also a mom-on-the-run, with summers filled with kids surf camps on the beach and basketball through the winter. As I go about work, family life or planning travel, having NC 12 South for my daily commute, I wouldn’t have it any other way!
