New York City, NY

,

Life is an adventure. Let’s go!

There’s nothing you can’t do.

What started off as an early Christmas ‘mommy and me’ trip and catching a train into the city turned suddenly into a ‘let’s get the family together’ affair. And like the tee-shirt says, I love NY! It’s big, bold, and to the point.

Visiting New York over the holidays requires an Empire State-of-mind. There are people, and lights, and shopping, and shows, and even more people, and so much energy. For my father-in-law, originally a New Yorker, this was proudly his city!

Like the dizzying heights of New York’s skyscrapers, the possibilities are endless. You can choose to go full steam with your city pass and have plenty to do. Another good way to enjoy New York is to stand still on the street, feel the crowds rush past you, just soak it all in, and don’t bite more off more than you can chew from the Big Apple! Okay then, I’ll make mine a Manhattan, thank you!

I first visited New York when I was twelve. I remember yellow cabs, the circle-line tour, my dad taking me to MOMA, and my mum taking my younger sister to all the big department stores. That was her idea for sightseeing. Little did I know this travel trick would come back to me, splitting up and ‘we’ll meet you later’ proved to be invaluable when it came to managing our group’s different needs. More on this story coming soon!
